As a writer, I have been reading a lot of blogs, books, and websites on writing. You can always get better at your craft.
You may have noticed that the name of this blog has recently changed from The Passionate Pursuit of Christ to Pastor Jimmy Proulx. There is a good reason for this.
Most professional writers suggest that a writer should have a Twitter account, email address, and Facebook page for their blog. I thought that adding another Twitter and Facebook account would be too much for me to manage…even if I do use Hootsuite.
The solution that I came up with is to change the name of the blog to match the Twitter account and Facebook account that I already have. The blog name is now Pastor Jimmy Proulx. If you are an email subscriber or RSS subscriber, nothing changes for you. You will continue to receive updates.
I believe this will make it much easier to engage readers, church members, and followers across the web. This name change also introduces you to a little more information about me.
Ultimately, I hope to be able to convert this blog over to a WordPress.org site and find a host for it.
I am currently working on some things that I hope will encourage you, inspire you, and push you to be more like Christ. Here are a few ideas that I am developing:
- A series on my journey as a church planter. This would include fears, victories, frustrations, and how much God has had to work in me and change me.
- I will continue to work on the Childlike series. Since I have become a dad, God has just given me a new perspective on what it means to have a child-like faith.
- A couple of eBooks are in development based on sermon ideas and blog posts. I will give updates as I get closer to a finished product.
- The Man Up category will get more posts. I believe that the church today has to many boys and not enough men. When I say men, I mean Biblical, unapologetic, unashamed, humble, husbands, dads, passionate disciples of Jesus Christ.
As always feel free to share any of the posts that move you. Comments are always welcome as long as they are not vulgar, pornographic, or contain profanity.
