God owns everything. God owns what you own.
1 Corinthians 10:26
God is the Potter, you are the clay.
You will only have what God allows you to have.
You are a steward of God’s things.
Do not give for the sake of receiving the praise of others.
Whether it is giving to the church or to a charity, you do not do it for people to see.
Give with the right motives.
Giving is the only way to prove that the spirit of greed does not own you.
Either you control your money or your money will be an idol for you.
Giving is an act of worship.
Giving to the church
The trend in churches in America is to give as little as possible.
The question is not “How much of my money should I give to God?” The question is, “How much of God’s money should you keep for yourself?”
Giving is not sacrificial unless it is truly a sacrifice. – This is more than the cost of a movie or a latte at Starbucks.
The church cannot be the church apart from your giving.
Giving is not forced upon you. God does not send you a bill.
God wants your giving to be both sacrificial and cheerful.
God does not want you to resent giving.
As an example, you should look to the elders of the church
Giving is a heart issue. If you say that you love God with all your heart, soul, and mind…this includes your money. You love God to the degree that you give to him.
Your giving to God is a direct reflection of how much you love God.
God will bless you to the degree that you give to him.
It is easy to give when things are easy and all the bills are paid.
When times are tough and you have to decide between buying groceries and putting gas in the car…that is when God wants you to give.
You will only give to God to the degree that you trust him…But
God will only take care of you to the degree that you trust in Him by giving to Him.
