December 1st was the official start day of my quitting soda challenge (minus certain occasions). Saturday was the 4th so this update is about those four days. Quitting soda is a little harder than I thought it would be. For the first four days, I averaged 3 sodas per day. The good thing is I have increased my water consumption. As of right now, I have one 12 pack of Diet Mountain Dew left in the fridge. I plan on trying to drink one a day until it is gone and then going without for the rest of the month. I am not sure how that plan is going to work out.
I am hoping that by quitting soda, I will also decrease my salt intake as well as feel better. Quitting soda is the first step into a systematic design for me to get healthier. Will it work? I hope so. If I am able to be sick less and have less headaches, I am all for it. I will blog updates during the coming weeks on how that is going as well.
It probably does not help that I made this decision at the start of the Christmas season.
