Temptations in the Dip…
1. Tempted to think I’m in Control
2. Tempted to pretend. Great leaders are able to simultaneously embrace these twin truths of their current realities and their ultimate triumphs.
3. Tempted to ditch my God given values in the pursuit of my God given dreams.
Exodus 39:10 “And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.”
Luke 14:26-27 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters – yes, even his own life – he cannot be my disciple.”
My greatest temptation is not to chase after the ridiculously evil but the deceptively good.
4. Tempted to feel abandoned
God is most powerfully present even when He seems to be most apparently absent.
The Dip – The spot in life where we have a HEIGHTENED SENSE of vulnerability and a DIMINISHED SENSE of power.
