Our College Group Book Discussion happened to meet at Wendy’s last Thursday to discuss the pages we have read so far in Margaret Feinberg’s Scouting the Divine. The book is great. The imagery she uses to talk about the smell of coffee or a blueberry scone makes you believe that you could almost smell it yourself. So, after ordering food, we sat at a table to discuss the book and have any other random conversation that we saw fit to have. The problem….Awkward crazy guy. For whatever reason, while talking on his cell phone felt the need to interject his two cents into every conversation that we had. Ignoring him did not help as he felt the need to comment on our random conversations. Our time there was intentional. Eat, fellowship, book discussion. Crazy random comment guy did not fit into our schedule. We decided the best thing to get our point across was to get up and move to another table. That worked. Random comment guy stayed on his cell phone the rest of the time that we were there discussing our book. This guy is just one of a few characters that I have noticed lately that for some reason checked their manners at the door.
